Before I left, I asked to see Merrick. I needed to know why I was even in consideration after our disastrous start.

Turned out, Merrick only wanted to hire me because I was the least competent candidate. It seemed his board was making him fill the position, against his wishes.

I didn’t really want to work in a place where my boss expected me to fail. But I figured maybe I’d enjoy proving him wrong. It was a little thing I dubbed the boss project.

What I wasn’t prepared for was that there would be other things I’d enjoy doing to Merrick Crawford.

Getting involved with the boss wasn’t the smartest choice.

But you know what they say about choices: Some we regret, some we are proud of. I just had no idea where this one was going to land.

First, the cover is beautiful and once I dived into this book, I could not put it down.

I loved Peyton Lane. She had me intrigued on what her story would be and it did not disappoint.

This book is full of mystery, lies, secrets, love, and past and present actions that fall into place with Peyton and Cayden's connection.

I liked how Author Monica James had you putting on your detective cap to figure out what would be the outcome with all the secret and lies that Peyton & Cayden had from their past & present.


Tons of twists with these characters and loved every minute of it!

And the love scenes had my heart soaring and all the feels.

Nate And Amy are an amazing couple!

They are smoking hot! 

My cherries were bursting at their banter back and forth of trying to not let their repetitive sexy times happen.

I would not be able to resist Nate either with his intense attraction he gives off.

I love the frenemies to lovers story.

This book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading all the books in this series!
