Meet Liam & Megan in the newest stand alone
in the Hope Town Series by Harper Sloan!

(Stand alone)
I've loved once. I gave everything that I had to that love. Blindly believing that nothing could ever take that feeling away from me. Away from us. And when my little world of happiness was ripped from my fingers, I felt a loss that still haunts me to this day.
Now I use that lingering grief as a shield to keep my heart from loving again. It's that fear that keeps me from letting anyone, except my daughter, get close enough to make it hurt. To make my heart bleed when I inevitably lose again.
Until the day I met Liam Beckett and everything I thought I had protected myself from was shoved back in my face.
He's on a mission to prove to me that a love worth having is a love worth fighting for.

Excerpt #1 (New to Tour)
His mouth leaves mine and with his hand still on my leg, he demands, “Dig your heels in deep, baby.”
I give him what he wants, but not because he told me to.  I give him what he wants because when his hand leaves my leg and pushes into the mattress, bringing his body up he goes even deeper into my body and those heels push hard.
Just as he demanded earlier, my hands go to his shoulders on my own accord and as he takes my body hard, my nails dig in with my heels still pushing hard against the small of his back.  Our eyes never leave each other’s probing gaze.  Never once do I take my eyes away from his, so full of lust that I know there isn’t an ounce of control left in his body.
He drops his head and I lift up to meet him in a kiss so sweet it doesn’t match the powerful way that he’s taking my body.  A kiss that gives me more than words ever could at this moment.  His hips slow and as his tongue rolls against mine, his hips start to take me in slow, deep rolls.  He doesn’t pull back, just rocks his hips against mine.
I push up and cry out when he slips even deeper.
His lips come from mine and his hooded eyes open a sliver.  “Feels like heaven,” he says softly.  “Everything, darlin’.  Feels like everything.”

Liam "Lee" Beckett is just sooooooo hot & damn he made my heart beat so fast!   Megan is one lucky lady to have him!

This is the second book in the Hope Town series which is a spinoff of the children grown up  from the Corps Series from Harper Sloan which is what I had fell in love with hardcore!

From the Prologue to the last page of this book, the pages were filled with love, lust, sex, hard aches & passion that will make you want to find your own Liam!

I really enjoyed how the story of Liam and Megan came together.  Liam is just like his father Beck, he doesn't give up on fighting for what he wants and believes in... Liam's goal is Megan.

Megan has a dark secret that she has been holding onto for years and is keeping herself from enjoying "everything" in life, including her feelings for Liam.  She only sees one thing and Liam shows her that there is sooo much more to life.

Well developed characters, backstories, and loved how the chemistry between the 2 main characters was burning off the pages.

I am really enjoying reading this series by Harper Sloan and am looking forward to reading the rest of Hope Town.

About the Author:
harper sloan bio.jpg
Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind!

Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.

This is not made for TV. This is the raw, brutal underground of no-holds-barred combat. Inside the cage there is nothing but me and the pain I inflict on those who dare enter. In the cage, I never have to worry about anyone but myself. Yet, when she began standing outside of the cage, everything changed. I was no longer fighting for the money or the glory – I was fighting for her.

Excerpt #1
“Are you just stupid?” I probably would have gone on, but she wrapped her arms around herself and glared up at me.
“Stop yelling at me!” she screamed.  She turned away, but I saw her reach up with the back of her hand to swoop underneath her eyes.
I turned slightly away from her and practically bit down on my tongue to keep myself from saying anything else.  I brought my fisted hands up against my stomach and tried to pull the tension inside of myself, work through it, and calm down.  I could hear her crying combined with choked breaths and sniffles.
“Fuck,” I mumbled under my breath.  I was starting to come off the fighting high I had been on—the tears might have helped with that—and my stomach felt tight.
After three long, deep breaths, I looked back to the girl on the ground and saw her frantically rubbing at her eyes and cheeks.  She didn’t look at me as she reached out and pulled her mostly empty bag close to her.  She looked inside and then looked around her at all her things on the ground.
“Sorry,” I mumbled.  I wasn’t all that great at apologies, and I figured now wasn’t going to be much different.  I’d obviously upset her with all my shitty comments, though.  “I didn’t mean to…I just…”
I stopped talking.  I didn’t know what to say, and I felt bad about yelling at her.  She looked at me all red-eyed with tears staining her cheeks.
“Just don’t do that shit anymore.”  I let out a big sigh.
She nodded once and then reached out to grab something off the ground near her and shoved it back into the bag.  From the amount of stuff scattered all over the street, my estimate on the size of the so-called purse wasn’t too far off.  There was an umbrella, a little flashlight, a bunch of tubes and bottles, and at least a half dozen pens.  As I looked around some more, I saw a small notebook, a paperback book, keys, a bottle of hand lotion that was nowhere near travel sized, a stack of tissues wrapped up in a Ziploc bag, two sets of earbuds, and a checkbook.  There was also a whole pile of ponytail holders, bobby pins, and those little hair-holder-things that looked like teeth.
There was shit from her bag from one side of the fucking street to the other.
She started crawling around, gathering it all up, and cramming it back inside, which gave me a fabulous view of her ass in the short-shorts style waitress uniform the place up the street usually demanded.  I could kind of see how she might have thought she could use the bag as a weapon—there had been more stuff in there than really should have been able to fit.  I looked around on the ground to see if there was an actual kitchen sink, or at least part of one, but I didn’t see anything metal.  There was something that looked like a small rock, though.
“How do you even carry that thing around?” I asked.
“That…that purse-bag-thingy there,” I said, pointing and shaking my finger at it.  I wouldn’t have admitted it, but the whole idea of the thing scared me, and I wasn’t sure why.  I felt like if I got too close to it I might get sucked in, never to be seen again.  “It’s insane.”
Her eyes became little slits as she looked up to me.
“There is nothing wrong with my purse!” she growled.
“It’s huge,” I said.
“It has everything I need in it.”
“It has everything you and ten of your friends could need for a week,” I replied with a laugh.  “I know there are people who carry Chihuahuas in their purse, but you could fit a Dane in there.”

Shay Savage has a new series & I am already hooked!

Loved this book!

1.  I loved how many names Liam came up with for Tria's huge purse!  Had me rolling on the floor & now every time I use my large bags, one of those many names will pop up in my head!  And yes I kept picturing this when Liam talked about Tria's purse

2.  This...made me SMILE big! Super sweet!

3.  Liam!  I mean come on!  The fact that he is such a sexy rough man who has a sweet hidden romantic side just totally captured my heart!  I can't wait to see what happens next in this trilogy!  He may be a fighter but his fighting is helping him hide his demons which we find out some of them in this book but we don't all of it... we will have to read the rest of the series when it comes out to find out.  I loved how Shay Savage keeps us wondering.

4.  Tria surprised me.  Finding out with Liam where she comes from and that she is totally not who he thinks she is kept this story flowing.  I literally kept guessing wrong on what Tria is all about.  Hmm.... very curious to see where Savage takes us.

5. Yes this book has a cliffy but thank goodness the next book is out in 3 weeks otherwise I might have to go find Shay Savage and get my own Liam to beat the next book out of her ASAP! Just kidding but seriously, I need to know what happens next!

Get this book and get CAGED!

REVIEW: When You're Back by Abbi Glines

When You're Back by Abbi Glines

The future is bright for Reese Ellis. She has Mase Colt-Manning, the man of her dreams, and a family she didn’t know existed until her long-lost father arrived on her doorstep in Rosemary Beach. After growing up with a cruel mother and abusive stepfather, Reese is eager to get to know the caring and charming man who wants to be a part of her life. Everything is finally falling into place.
While Reese is visiting her new family in Chicago, Mase spends time with his “cousin,” Aida, who has worshipped him since childhood. Though they’re unrelated by blood, Mase and Aida have been raised to think of each other as family. But when Reese returns, she can tell something isn’t quite right with Aida, who clearly resents Reese and excels at manipulative little games. And though Mase is unsuspecting, Reese knows Aida doesn’t love him like a cousin should…

And we get another wonderful story in this series from Abbi Glines!

What I loved about this book is the friendship that grows into a love between Mase and Reese.

Abbi Glines knows how to write love.  She builds up this story with Mase and Reese finally figuring out their relationship and we watch it grow in this book.  There were times that I had a hard time with the drama that they kept having because it felt that they could have avoided it but that is what makes a story juicy.

I really enjoyed getting to know Captain in this book and felt he stole a bit of the spotlight from the main characters.  I am definitely looking forward to reading more about him in the next book.

Great story, full of love, drama and twists.

REVIEW: A Glimpse of the Dream by L.A. Fiore

Teagan Harper is barely ten years old when she finds herself orphaned and sent away to live at Raven’s Peak, a Gothic estate on the seaside cliffs of Maine. Soon, though, her heartache and loneliness are tempered by a blossoming friendship with the only other child living at Raven’s Peak: Kane Doyle, only two years older than Teagan and abandoned by his mother. Over the years, the pair grows inseparable. First they’re pranksters and confidants, but eventually their feelings change, and best friends turn into soul mates. On the cusp of Teagan’s departure for a university in Boston, they share a glimpse into their happily-ever-after and make promises of forever. But Teagan and Kane’s engagement and dreams of the future are shattered when Teagan returns home to find Kane gone from Raven’s Peak—and living with someone new. Devastated and heartbroken, Teagan cuts ties with her beloved adoptive home and tries to move on with her life. But years later, when the shocking truth behind Kane’s betrayal comes to light, Teagan must decide whether to embrace her new life and let go of her past once and for all, or fight for her dream life with the only man she’s ever wanted.

And L.A. Fiore blows my mind yet again!

This book totally grabbed me hard.   I could not put it down.

You want to read a story that sucks you in and takes you for an emotional rollercoaster?  Then this is a book to read!

Teagan & Kane's story is brought beautifully to us from when they start off as childhood friends  and later into their adult lives.  Tragedy, love, and devastation rock their worlds and it will rock your heart while reading.  I loved that this story had a mystery that had me guessing and wondering what was it till the last page.

The characters were beautifully written, well developed plots and I felt like I got a great understanding on how the characters all came together.   Nothing was left unanswered.  Thank goodness otherwise I would have been more of a mess!

Yes, this is a must read on your summer list!  No way is this story predictable.  Get your box of tissues ready and get ready for your heart to feel & your mind to be blown.
